Pictures from Christmas day of this cutie.

Addie loved opening gifts, or at least watching us open them for her and playing with this paper. She was so excited she flapped her arms up and down like she was trying to fly.

Addie's toy phone from grandma and papa. As you can see she likes the way it tastes. When she decides to put things in her mouth she attacks it very violently.

These pictures were taken this morning. Sure love this baby.

She wanted to play with my camera. Cool toy huh.

We had a great Christmas. Adelynn was thoroughly spoiled, we loved her smiles, loved being with family, and lots of great food. We are so grateful for this time of year that is still magical, especially looking in Addie's eyes. We loved telling her about her Savior and his birth. We got a Christmas book from the library and we read it to her every night. We sang her Christmas hymns as lullabies. We told her stories of Jesus and and told her how much He loves her.

I think that my favorite part of this Christmas was making it special for Adelynn, and emphasizing to her how Christ is the center of Christmas. Becoming a wife and mother has shown me how important it is to really make what is most important just that- important.

We sure love this baby girl.
Merry Christmas from the Hansens!!

Here are the Christmas pictures we took for this year.

More Addie pictures, taken about a week ago. Darling little girl.

Happy six months to this beautiful girl!!

She is our favorite! I can't believe that she is already six months old. She has such a fun personality and smiles all the time. She is so happy and her happiness is infectious. She makes every day brighter and better.

She has what we call a scrunch face smile (above picture). Its when she gets so excited she can't contain it anymore and her whole face scrunches up with happy emotion. It is adorable. Her eyes have a light in them and sparkle. You can't capture it with the camera.

She is so curious. She picks things up with her hands and studies them so closely. She isn't very interested in putting them in her mouth. She plays peek-a-boo now, and giggles non stop while the blanket is over her face. She reaches her arms out towards you when she wants to be picked up, it makes us feel so loved.

Oh my goodness we love her so much! We are so blessed every day to have her in our lives. We are so grateful for this little girl.

Because everyone always needs an Addie fix...

She is getting so big now. She rolls over without motivating her with toys, the props herself up on her arms and knees and is so close to crawling, it'll probably be any day now. If you help her hold herself up she will move her arms and legs in crawling fashion. She just needs a little bit more strength to hold herself up, and she's got it!

She's got the prettiest smile that instantly make any day better. She is so smart, figuring things out. She has really good coordination with her hands, passing one toy to the other and and back. She will grab moving objects in front of her, and she can put her own pacifier in- the right way! But only when she wants to. Most of the time she is just content to chew on the side. She can feed a herself a  bottle, but again only when she wants to. She gets tired of it quickly and is content to let mommy finish.

She loves board books and will let me read her books for almost an hour straight. She follows my finger and looks at the pictures. She also loves her reindeer book that her Grandma and Papa Hansen got her. It has a little reindeer finger puppet attached to it, and she giggles when we read it to her.

She recognizes faces really well now, and has a fun time with her aunts Jenna and Jamie- they are identical twins! When they are together she looks from one to the other and back again, trying to figure them out. We went to my cousin's wedding reception earlier this week and she was also quite taken with my Uncle Allen, my dad's identical twin. She recognized him (or at least my dad) and was happy to see a familiar face.

We've also started separation anxiety. Especially if she is tired, she does not want to be away from those she knows! She will cry and look at me with a wounded expression like I gave her away. She also doesn't like me to be out of sight, even if I'm just behind her. I have to keep talking to her to let her know I'm there, or she will fuss until she sees me again.

We are in love with this little girl, and we thank our Heavenly Father for her every day!

Hey everyone, if you would like to receive my blog updates by email, put your email into the box at the right. I don't want to post it on facebook every time I update the blog, so put your email in so you can still know all about Addie Jane!

She is so grown up!!! She's been sitting up really well by herself for about two weeks, so we decided to try her out in the grocery cart. Take a look:

She is so proud to be big!! She looked like this the whole time we were in the store.

This is actually the second time I put her in the cart. The first time I was the cautious mama and had the seat belt so tight she couldn't move, no chance of falling there! This time she wasn't having it. She wanted to be sitting up and holding onto the cart and free to look every which way! She was so excited.

Five months old, and strong enough to sit up in the cart. She is growing up too fast. And we love her so much!
