We've got our own little gerber daisy!!

She is the cutest baby girl in the world. She is just so fun. We love her.

She had a rough day yesterday. We think she is teething, and to top it off she was sick. She threw up some mucus and ran a fever. She really need mom yesterday. I held her for most of the day, and told Jaron I felt like a "mommy bed". She took all her naps on me, and would not let me step five feet away from her. She wanted to sit on my lap while she played with toys. She want lots and lots of hugs and cuddles. It made me grateful that I can be home with her, especially when she needs me like she did yesterday. I think that when at all possible, mommies should be home with their babies, and there is no replacement for it. We are so grateful that our situation allows for that to happen.

We love you Addie baby.

We're working on our hand-eye coordination and chewing solid foods at the same time. She is able to feed herself cheerios now, and loves it!!

Such a pretty girl!!!

Addie's yeast infection looks like it's finally cleared up. Keeping our fingers crossed that it stays away for good this time. She is a much happier baby without an owie bummy. Poor baby girl. She also slept great last night, she only got up three times!!! I told my mother-in-law that this morning, and she commented on how funny that was, that getting woken up only three times during the night constitutes a good nights sleep. I guess it's all about perspective. We've been getting up 8-9 times a night, so 3 is a big improvement!!

In other news, Jaron got a phone call last night letting him know that he got the HPSP scholarship!! Now it is decicion crunch time: Ohio State with the HPSP scholarship or USUHS? We will let you know when we make a decision.

So proud of that hubby of mine. He is such a great father and husband. And super smart and good looking!! He works so hard to support this little family. We sure love him.

It's been a rough couple weeks for this little girl. She's got a yeast infection that is very persistent and medication resistant. We've gone to several doctor's appointments and used several different medications, but it's still hanging around and giving this poor baby girl a lot of grief. As a result, we've done a lot of cuddling. She doesn't let us do this often, so we love it while we can.

She also got shots this week, and needed some daddy cuddles. Daddy wasn't home (he was at work) so I handed her the teddy bear her daddy gave her. Look at that smile. She had it on her face as soon as I handed her the bear. A little bit of daddy's love when she needed it

I gave her a bath after her shots, thinking that the lower half of her body must be hurting pretty bad, with the yeast infection and 4 mean pokes. I filled the sink, and she promptly pooped in it. She didn't seem to mind, but now the baby was sitting in very poopy water with recent shot sites and a very bad yeast infection with open, weeping, bleeding sores on it. I drained the water, soaped her down, cleaned the sink, and started the bath over again. Little baby was just waiting for me to do that, because she pooped again! At this point I was just laughing, and really hoping I wasn't hurting her poor bummy sores with the poopy water. I repeated the process, and this time she didn't dirty the water and she was able to soak in the warm water. I think she enjoyed it. In fact, I think she thought it was like a spa and was loved getting pampered. Look at this picture I took of her:

Little lounger!! So cute though. And as far as we can tell her bum is no worse for the wear from sitting in poopy water.

She has also started feeding herself. Which means lots of messes!!

We went to Walmart yesterday with Jaron's sister Jamie. Addie apparently felt that the trip was very boring. This is how she sat in the shopping cart the whole time:

Lounging back, not a care in the world. Notice her left foot. Propped up on the handle bar of the cart. Such a silly baby. I kept sitting her back up and straitening her out, and she would promptly slouch down and stick her foot up again.

You know, sometimes I want to sit like this too.

Addie's latest accomplishment is sitting up on her own in bed. And rolling all over, attempting to crawl, ending up at the other end of the crib, feet where he head was, etc. This makes nap time very difficult. I know she's tired, constantly rubbing her eyes, yawning, acting sleeping, but she is too interesting in moving around to sleep. Check out this video.

I sent this video to Jaron, telling him that Addie and I were in a battle over nap time and she was winning. I won in the end though, she finally fell asleep. I think that this is how future nap times will go though. And she will probably win many many times.

Sure love this girl. We love her personality. We love how mobile she is getting and how she is able to better explore the world around her.

With Christmas and the holidays winding down, Jaron going back to work, kids going back to school, we decided it was time to put the Christmas tree away. I had to take one last photo shoot of little Addie in front of the tree before I put it away. It's been such a fun backdrop, and Christmas is just happy. I wanted to get some pictures of her under the tree in this outfit anyway, so it worked out.

Grandma's favorite present. I think she was everyone's favorite present this year.

Love this girl! I love taking pictures of her, and capturing the wonder and excitement of having a baby.

Pictures from Christmas day of this cutie.

Addie loved opening gifts, or at least watching us open them for her and playing with this paper. She was so excited she flapped her arms up and down like she was trying to fly.

Addie's toy phone from grandma and papa. As you can see she likes the way it tastes. When she decides to put things in her mouth she attacks it very violently.

These pictures were taken this morning. Sure love this baby.

She wanted to play with my camera. Cool toy huh.

We had a great Christmas. Adelynn was thoroughly spoiled, we loved her smiles, loved being with family, and lots of great food. We are so grateful for this time of year that is still magical, especially looking in Addie's eyes. We loved telling her about her Savior and his birth. We got a Christmas book from the library and we read it to her every night. We sang her Christmas hymns as lullabies. We told her stories of Jesus and and told her how much He loves her.

I think that my favorite part of this Christmas was making it special for Adelynn, and emphasizing to her how Christ is the center of Christmas. Becoming a wife and mother has shown me how important it is to really make what is most important just that- important.

We sure love this baby girl.
Merry Christmas from the Hansens!!

Here are the Christmas pictures we took for this year.
